Much to our mutual regret, BAAF Basel will no longer take place, so we have been looking for an alternative opportunity to offer you our objects. The internet has provided the solution. We have decided to create for you a monthly Exclusive Ancient Art Auction with Catawiki, the successful international internet auction site.
As we all have to adapt to the ever-growing digital world, we can learn to enjoy the advantages the internet has to offer. Our new internet service means you don’t have to travel and you can browse what we have to offer at your own convenience. With our auction, sometimes you will be able to buy at the low reserve price, at others you can enjoy the excitement of battling it out with another bidder, feeling the adrenalin rush when you win. You will be surprised by how much fun you can have.
The Exclusive Ancient Art Internet auction at Catawiki allows you to acquire ancient art from your own trusted dealers, from the comfort of your own home. Even in the world of Ancient Art, the internet is playing an ever-more important role. As IADAA members, we have chosen Catawiki to act as our partner in offering you our treasures. The objects in this exclusive Catawiki auction are provided by IADAA members only, so you can buy with confidence as authenticity and provenance are guaranteed following the strict rules of our association.
The Brussels Ancient Art Fair, June 7-11, 2017
Knowing about the discontinuation of BAAF Basel, you might consider an important and attractive alternative: visit the beautiful sister fair BAAF Brussels.
The Brussels Ancient Art Fair, conceptualized as a “Gallery-Walk” rather than a traditional fair, will take place for the 15th time from June 7-11, 2017 www.baaf.be in the middle of the vivid antiquities district around the magnificent ‘Place du Grand Sablon’.
Strictly speaking, there are in fact three fairs under the umbrella name CULTURES, taking place in about 100 local galleries. Next to BAAF, there is also the “Asian Art in Brussels” (AAB) and the established “BRUNEAF” (Brussels Non European Art Fair).
Art installations and savoir-vivre in the early summer metropolis! Between visiting galleries, one can drink coffee on one of the many terraces, enjoy Belgian chocolate specialties and experience lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants offering international cuisine.
Treat yourself to a few days in the heart of Brussels. It will also give you the opportunity to visit museums and attend interesting art lectures presented by ‘Art Connoisseurs’ during the fair.
Seven longstanding participants of BAAF Basel and longtime attendees of the Brussels fair, would be delighted to welcome you in the galleries around Sablon this June. See you soon in Brussels! www.baaf.be
